I’ve made a video with Fiverr. I want to add / remove bits from it. I am just beginning to look at and use video editing software so I want something easy to use. What is the best?

Windows Movie Maker v6.0 has allowed my 12 year old to be very creative. The drag & drop time line story board is great allowing the music waveform on each video frame to be editied. It seems Microsoft got it right with version 6 & then buggered it up with Windows Live Movie Maker & Windows Movie Maker 2012. On Windows 7 it maybe possible for the old & new version to coexist. Which means one could be creative using WMM6 & then publish to the web using WMM2012

In Serif.com there is a software call Movie plus it is very nice it free but while editing it show it logo on middle of the videos

For Linux I would recommend KDENlive, it is the best freeware video-editor out there I have used.

It can be difficult to get it installed properly as the Ubuntu repositories contain a bad version of the program.windows movie maker

Same here, if you're using Windows, it's best to use Windows Movie Maker for a start.
Windows Live Movie Maker and the default Youtube editor are probably the easiest for beginners to use. I've tried many different ones and found those to be the better ones for people just starting to get into, or dabble in video editing. The basic necessities are there and should be enough, depending on your needs.
In my experience, free video editing software is terrible and extremely hard to use. There are a few examples that are decent, such as VideoLAN Movie Creator, which is currently in beta.
There are other options in the link provided above. Give it a browse. I've heard good things about Avidemux, although it never successfully ran on my computer.

I prefer Total Media Converter. It allows you to add, remove, split, merge, crop video clips. You can also convert videos into another type. Windows Live Movie Maker has less options than Total Media Converter in video-editing.
I vote for Windows Movie Maker (not Windows Live Movie Maker) as it produces semi professional looking videos if you know what you are doing, and is quite easy to use. Windows Movie Maker 6 has tons of transitions and effects to download and I suggest you play around with them to see which ones you might like to use to make the videos stand out more. Live Movie Maker does not have much for transitions and effects, but does well at editing. Did you mean Power Director? I use it to make movies from my recordings. It is simple to use with plenty of tutorials. It does cost but well worth it.
Windows Live Movie Maker is probably one of the easiest around and it is free. Lightworks is one of the best around. It is free, but it has a HUGE learning curve. As far as commercial software, Adobe Premiere Elements is highly rated, feature rich for newbies, and pretty easy to use. Pinnacle Studio and Sony Vegas are generally get good ratings from people I know, but I have not used them myself.
If you're using windows, use Windows Movie Maker for Mac Apple i Movie. You tube is a great option to edit videos online. Avid FreeDV, Wax , Zwei-Stein are free softwares that can be used to edit videos too.

(Should be! :-) )2. Edit online in YouTube?? Will go check that out, as naturally, my own video efforts will be posted there, so should be best compatibility, I'd think.

I think there is probably a good freebie one out there somewhere for me - usually the type of program that offers a cut-down (simpler!) version with an upsell to it.
